President Mnangagwa has appointed Dr John Basera as the new Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works
Dr Basera, who was with the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Resettlement takes over from Mr Zvinechimwe Churu.
Mr Churu has been appointed Deputy Chief Secretary — Finance, Administration and Human Resources in the Office of the President and Cabinet.
In March this year, Dr Basera scooped the Best Preforming Permanent Secretary Award following the 2022 Performance Evaluation Results.
The appointment of Dr Basesa comes a few weeks after President Mnangagwa also named former Minister of Mines and Mining Development Hon Winston Chitando as the New Minister of Local Government and Public Works.
Hon Chitando took over from Hon July Moyo who has been moved to the Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare.
